Features of the Length Measurement Equipment
Steel pipes are aligned as they approach the measurement slide block. The allowable feeding error range is within 0 to 200mm from the starting position of the steel pipe feed line. A limit switch is installed to prevent the slide block from colliding with the inkjet marking and measuring slide block during the flipping process.
The measurement station operates with two slide blocks moving along the steel pipe's axis. The motion is driven by a rack and pinion system and a rotating encoder. When the slide block pass a fixed proximity switch, the rising edge triggers a signal to the encoder, starting the counting process. The measurement slide block moves until an optical switch detects the end of the steel pipe. At this point, the slide block retracts to its original position.
The distance traveled by the first slide block is denoted as A1, and the second carriage's travel distance as A2. The fixed position of both carriages is represented as A. The actual steel pipe length is calculated by the formula:
Steel Pipe Length (X) = A - A1 - A2.
